Flow Measuring Variables
Coriolis Mass Flow Meter
Yokogawa, E&H, and ABB offer advanced Coriolis mass flow meters that provide highly accurate mass flow measurements. These meters operate on the principle of the Coriolis effect, where the deflection of flow tubes is used to measure mass flow directly, irrespective of the fluid’s density, temperature, or viscosity. This makes them ideal for applications requiring precise measurements, such as in chemical processing, oil and gas, and food and beverage industries.
Magnetic Flow Meter
Magnetic flow meters, provided by Yokogawa, E&H, and ABB, utilize Faraday’s law of electromagnetic induction to measure the flow rate of conductive liquids. These meters are highly reliable and maintenance-free, as they have no moving parts. They are perfect for applications in water and wastewater treatment, pulp and paper, and other industries where fluid conductivity is sufficient for accurate measurement.
Vortex Flow Meter
Yokogawa, E&H, and ABB’s vortex flow meters measure the flow rate by detecting the vortices shed by a bluff body placed in the fluid stream. This technology is suitable for a wide range of fluids, including liquids, gases, and steam. These meters are robust, versatile, and offer high accuracy, making them ideal for applications in the chemical, petrochemical, and energy sectors.
Thermal Mass Flow Meter
Thermal mass flow meters from Yokogawa, E&H, and ABB measure the flow rate of gases based on the principle of heat transfer from a heated element to the flowing gas. These meters provide direct mass flow measurement without the need for temperature and pressure compensation. They are widely used in applications such as compressed air, natural gas, and other industrial gases.
Ultrasonic Flow Meter
Ultrasonic flow meters offered by Yokogawa, E&H, and ABB use the principle of sound wave propagation to measure the flow rate of fluids. These meters can be either transit-time or Doppler type and are suitable for a variety of applications, including clean and dirty liquids, slurries, and even gases. They provide non-intrusive, maintenance-free measurement with high accuracy.
Orifice DP Flow Meter
Orifice differential pressure (DP) flow meters from Yokogawa, E&H, and ABB use an orifice plate to create a pressure drop proportional to the flow rate. These meters are widely used due to their simplicity, cost-effectiveness, and reliability. They are suitable for measuring the flow of various fluids, including liquids, gases, and steam, in many industrial processes.
Turbine Flow Meter
Turbine flow meters from Yokogawa, E&H, and ABB measure the flow rate by detecting the rotational speed of a turbine placed in the fluid stream. These meters are highly accurate and suitable for clean, low-viscosity fluids. They are commonly used in applications such as hydrocarbon processing, fuel measurement, and water distribution.
Rota Meter
Rotameters, or variable area flow meters, from Yokogawa, E&H, and ABB consist of a tapered tube and a float that rises and falls with the flow rate. They provide a simple, cost-effective way to measure the flow of liquids and gases. Rotameters are widely used in laboratory settings, process industries, and applications where visual indication of flow rate is sufficient.

Level Measuring Variables
Guided Wave Radar Level Transmitter
Guided wave radar (GWR) level transmitters from Yokogawa, E&H, and ABB use microwave pulses guided along a probe to measure the level of liquids and solids. These transmitters are highly accurate and reliable, unaffected by changes in temperature, pressure, or vapor. They are ideal for applications in storage tanks, process vessels, and silos.
Ultrasonic Level Transmitter
Ultrasonic level transmitters from Yokogawa, E&H, and ABB measure the level of liquids and solids by sending ultrasonic pulses and measuring the time it takes for the echo to return. These non-contact transmitters are suitable for a wide range of applications, including water and wastewater management, chemical storage, and bulk solids measurement.
DP Level Transmitter
Differential pressure (DP) level transmitters from Yokogawa, E&H, and ABB measure the level by detecting the pressure difference between the bottom and top of a tank. These transmitters are versatile and can be used for both liquid and solid level measurements. They are commonly used in applications such as boiler drum level, hydrostatic tank gauging, and sealed tank level measurement.
Displacer Type Level Transmitter
Displacer type level transmitters from Yokogawa, E&H, and ABB operate based on the buoyancy principle, where a displacer immersed in the fluid changes the torque on a spring. These transmitters provide accurate level measurements for liquids in applications such as chemical reactors, distillation columns, and storage tanks.
Magnetostrictive Level Transmitter
Magnetostrictive level transmitters from Yokogawa, E&H, and ABB use the magnetostrictive effect to measure the level of liquids. A float with a magnetic field moves along a probe, changing the magnetostrictive properties of the probe material. These transmitters offer high accuracy and reliability, making them suitable for applications in the chemical, petrochemical, and oil and gas industries.
Local Gauge Glass
Local gauge glasses from Yokogawa, E&H, and ABB provide a simple and direct method for visual level indication. These gauges are commonly used in applications where it is important to have a local, real-time indication of the fluid level, such as in boilers, storage tanks, and process vessels. They are reliable and easy to maintain, offering a cost-effective solution for level measurement.
